Herkimer is perfectly centralized on NYS Thruway Exit 30, exactly between Albany and Syracuse. The highways Route 5S (4 lane) and Route 5 (2 lane) run along the NYS Thruway, allowing commuters quick and free access to Utica (12 minute drive) and the SUNY Polytechnic Marcy Nano-Technology Center (20 minute drive). Route 28 will take you to Old Forge and the Adirondack State Park to the north, and to Cooperstown to the south. Of course, if you happen to work in Herkimer or the immediate surrounding area, you can be at work in a matter of just a few minutes. |
